The goal of the workshop is to understand the Model Context Protocol and how it enables AI agents to use external tools
In the first part, we’ll explore the Apify platform and its key features, including access to over 4,500 ready-to-use tools (Actors) for web scraping, data extraction, and automation.
In the second part, we’ll try orchestrating an agent for various use cases. We’ll discover the importance of effective prompting and see how even a simple combination of tools can help tackle more complex workflows. We’ll also learn that failure can happen quickly, and that’s part of the learning process too.
Find tools that can help you solve your use case. To get started, consider examples like lead generation or competitor analysis.
You can take the traditional approach and explore the Apify Store at https://apify.com/store, or use the Model Context Protocol and its discoverability features to find the best tools directly through the chat UI.
The outcome of this exercise is to become familiar with the Apify platform, learn how to run an Actor, and identify which Actors you need to solve the use case you have in mind.
Now, let’s take things a step further, we’re going to create an agent on the Apify platform, make it public, and even explore how to monetize it.
If you don’t have a specific use case in mind, no worries, we can build a Lead Generation Agent. It will be equipped with a set of tools to extract valuable information from the internet. Your task is to:
